Ingredients:

- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 7 tbsp butter (melted)
- 2 cups fresh cherries (pitted)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
2. Separate the eggs, placing the yolks in one bowl and the whites in another. Beat the yolks with sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Stir in the melted butter.
4. Combine the flour and baking powder, then add to the egg mixture. Mix well.
5. Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the batter.
6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the base is cooked through. Let cool.
7. Pour the remaining batter into the pan and bake in the same manner. Let cool.
8. Assemble the cake: Place the first layer on a serving plate, add cherries, and spread whipped cream over the cherries.
9. Place the second layer on top of the filling. Dust with powdered sugar for decoration.
