Ingredients:
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1 dl sugar
- 100 g butter
- 1 egg
- 1 dl heavy cream
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3 dl all-purpose flour
- Flour for dusting
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add the syrup, sugar, and spices (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and allspice). Mix well and let cool slightly.
3. Add the egg to the cooled mixture and stir until smooth.
4. Incorporate the heavy cream and mix.
5. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Gradually add the flour mixture to the batter, stirring until well combined.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
7. Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and cooked through. Test for doneness with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan before serving.
