Ingredients:
- 12 jalapeños or other chili varieties (halved lengthwise and seeds removed)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium red onion, diced
- 500 g ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (e.g. panko)
- 175 g Gruyère cheese, grated
Instructions:
1. Place the halved jalapeños or peppers on a baking sheet with the cut side facing up.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onions and sauté for about 8 minutes until they soften and start to color.
3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes until browned. Mix in the mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for a few more minutes until the liquid evaporates.
4. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the breadcrumbs and ¾ of the grated cheese.
5. Spoon the mixture tightly into each jalapeño half.
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, and cover with foil. Bake for an additional 5 minutes.
7. Serve immediately.
