A delicious blend of traditional shakshuka and pizza, perfect for Father's Day brunch. Easy to make and sure to delight the whole family. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 pre-made pizza crust- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 400 grams crushed tomatoes
- 4 eggs
- 100 grams feta cheese, crumbled
- Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft.2. Add crushed garlic and diced bell pepper, continue cooking for a few minutes.
3. Season the mixture with cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
4. Pour crushed tomatoes into the pan and mix well. Let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, until slightly thickened.
5. Place the pizza crust on a baking sheet and spread the shakshuka mixture evenly on top.
6. Make four small wells in the mixture and crack the eggs into the wells.
7. Sprinkle crumbled feta cheese evenly over the top.
8. Bake the pizza in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 10-12 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your liking.
9. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro before serving.
