A delicious alternative to traditional pizza, combining the sweetness of onions with the saltiness of bacon. Perfect for gatherings or relaxing at home. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 2 pizzas
Ingredients:
- 250 g pizza dough
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 100 g bacon, diced
- 150 g mozzarella cheese, grated
- 50 g Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and golden brown.
2. Add the diced bacon to the skillet and cook until the bacon is crispy. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
3. Roll out the pizza dough into a thin circle. Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
4. Spread the onion and bacon mixture evenly over the pizza base.
5. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly on top. Season with salt and black pepper.
6. Bake the pizza in a preheated oven at 220 °C (428 °F) for about 12-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown.
7. Remove the pizza from the oven and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
