Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 large head of cabbage - 400 g ground beef (or chicken)
- 1 dl rice
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 dl tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp oil
- Fresh herbs (e.g., dill or parsley) to taste
Instructions:
1. Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool. 2. Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Sauté them in oil in a pan until soft.
3. In a bowl, mix the ground meat, cooked rice, sautéed onions, egg, salt, black pepper, and herbs.
4. Carefully remove the cabbage leaves. Blanch the leaves in boiling water for a few minutes until soft.
5. Take one cabbage leaf and place about one tablespoon of filling in it. Fold the edges over the filling and roll it tightly.
6. Place the rolls in a baking dish and pour the tomato sauce over them.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes.
8. Serve warm, paired with potatoes or salad.
