A delicious and filling dish perfect for both everyday meals and special occasions. Feel free to customize the filling ingredients to your liking. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 head of Chinese cabbage or white cabbage - 300 g ground meat (beef, pork, or vegetarian option)
- 1 dl rice
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried herbs (such as thyme or oregano)
- 2 dl tomato sauce
- 1 dl water
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool. 2. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Sauté them in oil until softened.
3. In a bowl, mix the ground meat, cooked rice, sautéed onions, egg, salt, pepper, and herbs.
4. Carefully separate the cabbage leaves and blanch them in salted water for a few minutes until soft.
5. Take one cabbage leaf and place a tablespoon of filling in the center. Fold the edges over the filling and roll it up into a cylinder.
6. Place the rolls in a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce and water over the top.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes.
8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to brown the top.
