A delicious apple tosca dessert topped with a nutty caramel sauce. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 6
Ingredients:
- 5 large apples (approximately 600 g, chopped)
- 60 g butter
- 1.5 dl rolled oats
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
Nut Caramel Sauce:
- 4 dl cream
- 3 dl brown sugar
- 50 g chopped hazelnuts
- 100 g pecans, chopped
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the apples into thin wedges.
2. Melt the butter in a pan and add the apple wedges. Stir to combine.
3. Add rolled oats, cinnamon, and vanilla sugar to the pan. Mix and cook for about five minutes until the apples soften.
4. Pour the apple mixture into a high-sided baking dish.
5. To prepare the nut caramel sauce: In a pan, combine cream and brown sugar, heat and stir until smooth. Allow the mixture to simmer for about ten minutes.
6. Add the chopped hazelnuts, chopped pecans, and a small piece of butter to the pan. Mix well.
7. Pour the caramel sauce over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
8. Bake the apple tosca in the oven at 200°C (392°F) on the middle rack for 15-20 minutes.
9. Serve warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream.
