Ingredients:
- 15 cm piece of leek, chopped
- 1 dl water
- 150 g grated cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt (iodized)
- 300 g macaroni (uncooked weight)
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 400 g ground beef (17% fat)
- Canned crushed tomatoes, herbs
Instructions:
1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the chopped leek and continue cooking until it softens.
3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, and salt. Mix well.
4. Add the water and bring the mixture to a boil.
5. Cook the macaroni separately according to package instructions and drain.
6. Combine the cooked macaroni with the beef mixture.
7. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle grated cheese on top.
8. Bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 30 minutes or until the top is beautifully golden brown.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
