Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef (or a mix) - 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 large red onion, sliced
- Lettuce (e.g., iceberg)
- Ketchup
- Mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Shape the ground beef into four patties and season with salt and pepper. 2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until well done.
3. Place the cheddar cheese slices on top of the patties and cover the pan with a lid. Allow the cheese to melt for about 1-2 minutes.
4. Toast the inside of the hamburger buns in the pan or oven until golden brown.
5. Assemble the burgers: place lettuce on the bottom half of the bun, followed by the cheese-topped patty, tomato, onion slices, and desired amounts of ketchup and mayonnaise.
6. Add the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
