A delicious Hungarian stew that combines beef and pork with peppers, tomatoes, and spices. This dish is perfect for warming up on a winter evening and is easy to prepare at a leisurely pace.
Preparation Time: 2.5 hours
Serving Size: 4-6 people

Ingredients:

- 2 tbsp oil
- 700 g beef (and pork) meat (e.g., chuck, stewing beef, shoulder)
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 bell peppers
- 2 carrots
- 5 dl water
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ - 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp chili seasoning
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tsp paprika powder

Instructions:

1. Brown the room temperature meat in the oil and transfer it to a pot.
2. In the same pan, add the peeled and chopped onions and diced bell peppers. Sauté for a moment and chop the carrots while cooking. Add the carrots to the pan for a few minutes. Pour the vegetable mixture into the pot. Also, add the peeled garlic cloves (you can crush them or leave them whole to remove after simmering).
3. Add water, crushed tomatoes, and spices to the pot. Bring to a boil.
4. Reduce the heat and let it simmer covered for at least 2 hours.
