Ingredients:

- 500 g beef (e.g., chuck or shoulder)
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 onions
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 bell peppers (e.g., red and yellow)
- 2 tbsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 liter beef broth
- 2 potatoes
- 2 bay leaves

Instructions:

1. Cube the beef and chop the onions, garlic, and bell peppers.
2. Heat the oil in a large pot. Brown the beef cubes for a few minutes.
3. Add the onions and garlic to the pot, sauté until soft.
4. Add the bell peppers and continue cooking for a few minutes.
5. Sprinkle paprika powder, salt, black pepper, and cumin over the mixture. Stir well.
6. Add tomato paste and beef broth. Bring to a boil and add bay leaves.
7. Peel and cube the potatoes, then add them to the pot.
8. Let the goulash simmer on low heat for about 30-40 minutes, until the meat is tender and the potatoes are cooked.
9. Serve hot, ideally with fresh bread.
