A festive gingerbread cookie recipe perfect for the holiday season. Preparation Time: 3 hours (includes cooling time)
Serving Size: Approximately 24 cookies
Ingredients:
- 200 g butter
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 6 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl powdered sugar (for decoration)
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the sugar and syrup. Heat over low until the sugar dissolves.
2. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Mix well.
3. Gradually add the baking soda and flour to the mixture, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
4. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours.
5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
6. Roll out the dough to about 5 mm thick and cut into desired shapes.
7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 8-10 minutes.
8. Allow the cookies to cool and decorate with powdered sugar before serving.
