A delicious and simple pasta pomodoro recipe, perfect for a weeknight dinner. It's full of flavor and comes together quickly. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g pasta (e.g., spaghetti or penne)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 800 g canned tomatoes (whole or crushed)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 100 g fresh basil, chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Drain and save a little pasta water.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until golden.
3. Add canned tomatoes and sugar, mixing well. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and black pepper.
4. Stir the cooked pasta into the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water.
5. Remove the skillet from heat and add chopped basil. Mix well.
6. Serve pasta pomodoro with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
