Ingredients:
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, sugar, and dried basil. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Reduce heat to low and slowly add heavy cream, stirring to combine. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss until well coated.
7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese.
