Ingredients:
- 12 oz (340g) fettuccine or spaghetti
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
4. Season the sauce with salt and pepper. If you like it spicy, add red pepper flakes to taste.
5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.
