Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225 g) fettuccine pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 16 oz (450 g) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
4. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are tender and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce and mix until well coated.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
