Ingredients:
- 8 ounces pasta (fettuccine or penne)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 16 ounces mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are tender and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
5. Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
6. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the sauce is smooth.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
