Ingredients:

- 8 oz (225g) pasta (fettuccine or spaghetti)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 16 oz (450g) mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
4. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are golden brown and have released their moisture, about 7-10 minutes.
5. Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
