Ingredients:
- 12 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
3. Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the mushrooms are tender.
4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
5. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine with the sauce.
7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
