Ingredients:
- 300g pasta (spaghetti or penne)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 large ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add the diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, and sugar to the skillet. Stir and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
4. Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the tomato mixture. Mix well to coat the pasta.
5. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped basil.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
