Ingredients:
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 3 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they start to soften.
5. Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it to the skillet with the tomato mixture. Toss well to combine.
6. Stir in the chopped basil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
