Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add the diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
4. Toss the cooked spaghetti into the skillet with the tomato mixture. Stir well to combine.
5. Remove from heat and add the chopped basil. Mix thoroughly.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
