Delicious pastries made from frozen puff pastry, perfect for guests and offering a sweet taste thanks to the apple sauce. Preparation Time: Over 60 min
Serving Size: 12 pastries
Ingredients:
- 500 g frozen puff pastry
- 300 g apple sauce
- 1 dl water
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- 1 tbsp cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
1. Thaw the frozen puff pastry in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
2. Roll out the pastry to a thickness of about 3-5 mm and cut it into squares or circles.
3. Place about a tablespoon of apple sauce in the center of each piece of pastry.
4. Fold the pastry pieces in half and press the edges tightly together.
5. Prepare the syrup: boil the water and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar is fully dissolved. Allow to cool.
6. Brush the tops of the pastries with the syrup and sprinkle cinnamon if desired.
7. Brush the tops of the pastries with the egg mixture as well.
8. Bake the pastries in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Allow to cool before serving.
