Delicious Spanish meatballs served with a rich tomato sauce. Perfect as a pasta dish or part of a tapas platter.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: Serves 4

Ingredients:

- 400 g ground beef
- 200 g ground pork
- 1 dl breadcrumbs
- 1 dl milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 2 tbsp olive oil for frying
Tomato Sauce:
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp oregano

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs and milk and let it soak for a few minutes.
2. Add ground meats, chopped onion, crushed garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, paprika, and oregano. Mix until combined.
3. Shape the mixture into meatballs about the size of a golf ball.
4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the meatballs until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
5. To prepare the tomato sauce: Heat olive oil in the same skillet and add chopped onion and crushed garlic. Sauté until the onions are soft.
6. Add crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, pepper, and oregano. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
7. Add the meatballs to the sauce and let them simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
8. Serve warm with pasta or as part of a tapas platter.
