Delicious doughnuts with a sweet berry jam center, perfect for celebrating May Day. Made from fresh ingredients, these doughnuts are best enjoyed right after frying. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 12-15 pieces
Ingredients:
- 2 dl milk - 50 g fresh yeast
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 egg
- 50 g butter
- 6-7 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl berry jam (preferably berry mix)
- Oil (for frying)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
1. Warm the milk to body temperature and dissolve the fresh yeast in it. 2. Add sugar, salt, cardamom, vanilla sugar, and the egg. Mix well.
3. Melt the butter and incorporate it into the dough mixture.
4. Gradually add all-purpose flour until the dough is soft and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
5. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, then let it rise covered in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
6. Roll out the dough to about 1.5 cm thick and cut out circles.
7. Place a teaspoon of berry jam in the center of each circle and fold the dough to form balls.
8. Allow the doughnuts to rise for another 15-20 minutes.
9. Heat oil in a pot to 180 degrees Celsius and fry the doughnuts until golden brown.
10. Remove the doughnuts and let them drain on paper towels, then dust with powdered sugar.
