Gingerbread House

A delightful gingerbread house that brings the festive spirit to life. A perfect project for the whole family! Preparation Time: 2 hours (plus cooling time)
Serving Size: 1 gingerbread house
Ingredients:
- 250 g butter- 250 g sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 700 g all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (for dough)
- 1 egg (for piping)
- Powdered sugar (for decoration)
- Colorful candies (for decoration)
Instructions:
1. Melt butter, sugar, and syrup in a saucepan over low heat. Mix well.2. Add spices (cinnamon, ginger, cloves), baking soda, and salt. Stir to combine.
3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool.
4. Gradually add flour and mix until the dough is smooth.
5. Incorporate the egg and mix thoroughly.
6. Divide the dough into two parts and wrap in plastic wrap. Let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
7. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
8. Roll the dough into about 0.5 cm thick sheets. Cut out the desired house pieces (walls, roof) and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
9. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the gingerbread is golden brown. Allow to cool.
10. Prepare a thick icing using powdered sugar and water to assemble and decorate the house.
11. Assemble the house and decorate it with colorful candies.
