This delicious vegan Christmas ham is a perfect alternative for your holiday table. Made from seitan, it’s flavorful and packed with festive tastes.Ingredients:
- 400 g seitan
- 2 dl vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 2 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 dl apple juice
- 1 dl chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 dl fresh herbs (e.g., parsley and basil)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. In a bowl, mix vegetable broth, soy sauce, maple syrup, mustard, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper.
3. Add the seitan to the bowl and mix well to absorb the marinade flavors.
4. Shape the seitan mixture into a ham-like piece and place it in a baking dish.
5. Pour the apple juice over the ham and sprinkle the chopped nuts around it.
6. Drizzle olive oil on top of the ham and cover the dish with foil.
7. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the surface is golden brown.
8. Let the ham rest for a moment before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs.
