Traditional light gingerbread cookies, a sweet treat for Christmas. Easy to bake and loved by the whole family.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: Approximately 30 cookies

Ingredients:

- 200 g butter
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 5 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl powdered sugar (for decoration)

Instructions:

1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add sugar, syrup, and vanilla sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
2. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and let it cool slightly.
3. In a separate bowl, mix baking powder and spices with the all-purpose flour. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture.
4. Knead the dough until smooth and wrap it in plastic wrap. Let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
5. Preheat the oven to 175°C (347°F). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.5 cm thick.
6. Cut out cookies using gingerbread cookie cutters in your desired shapes.
7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the oven for about 8-10 minutes.
8. Allow the cookies to cool and decorate with powdered sugar before serving.
