Ingredients:
- 200 g sugar
- 150 g butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 200 g flour
- 100 ml Turkish yogurt
- 100 ml lime juice
- Zest of 1 lime
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan.
2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
4. Stir in the Turkish yogurt, lime juice, and lime zest until well combined.
5. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into the mixture. Gently fold until just combined.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
7. Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
8. Allow the cake to cool before serving. Optionally, decorate with lime slices or whipped cream.
