This lasagna is the solution to all your traditional lasagna problems. It features a rich meat sauce and a perfectly thick cheese sauce that holds the lasagna together.

Serving Size: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

- Meat Sauce:
- 800 g ground beef
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 carrots, grated
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Paprika powder, to taste
- Chili powder, to taste
- Cumin, to taste
- 1 can (400-500 g) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- Butter, for frying
- Cheese Sauce:
- A large piece of butter
- 0.5-0.75 dl all-purpose flour
- 6-7 dl milk
- Nutmeg, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- White pepper, to taste
- 10-15 slices of cheese
- Topping:
- 150 g grated cheese
- Fresh arugula, for serving

Instructions

1. Prepare the Meat Sauce:
- Melt butter in a large frying pan. Add ground beef, onions, garlic, carrots, and tomatoes. Cook until the meat is browned and the vegetables are soft.
- Add salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, cumin, crushed tomatoes, and ketchup. Let it simmer until excess liquid evaporates. Adjust seasoning if needed.
2. Prepare the Cheese Sauce:
- In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Add nutmeg, salt, white pepper, and cheese slices. Mix until smooth and remove from heat.
3. Assemble the Lasagna:
- Grease a deep baking dish. Start layering with meat sauce, pasta sheets, and cheese sauce. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with meat sauce and grated cheese on top.
4. Bake:
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 35-40 minutes, until the cheese is crispy and golden.
5. Serve:
- Before serving, top with fresh arugula. Enjoy!
