Ingredients:
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 150 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave. Stir until smooth.
3. Add the sugar to the melted chocolate mixture and mix well.
4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
5. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and vanilla sugar into the batter. Gently fold until combined.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
7. Bake in the oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the cake is set. Test for doneness by inserting a toothpick; it should come out clean.
8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
9. Serve the cake on its own with coffee or alongside berries or fruits.
