A delicious and fragrant addition to your table, perfect for drinks or desserts. This sweet syrup is easy to make during the summer season.
Preparation Time: 30 minutes (plus 4 hours cooling)
Serving Size: About 300 ml
Ingredients:
- 300 ml lilac flowers
- 250 ml water
- 150 ml sugar
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- A few wild blueberries (optional)
Instructions:
1. Rinse the lilac flowers quickly in water to clean them if necessary.
2. In a saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Add the flowers, lemon juice, and blueberries to the saucepan. Stir well.
4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for at least four hours.
5. Strain the syrup into a clean bottle or jar.
6. Store in the refrigerator. The syrup will keep for several months.
