Ingredients:
- 200 g butter- 1 dl sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp clove
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 6 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- Icing sugar for decoration
- Water (for making icing)
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the sugar and syrup. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add cinnamon, ginger, clove, salt, and baking soda. Mix well.
3. Gradually add the flour to the mixture and stir until you have a smooth dough.
4. Add the egg and mix the dough thoroughly.
5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.5 cm thick and cut out gingerbread figures.
8. Transfer the cookies to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
9. Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until the cookies are golden brown.
10. Allow the cookies to cool before decorating.
11. Mix icing sugar with water to create a paste and decorate the cookies as desired.
