Crispy French fries that are double-fried for the perfect crunch. This treat is an ideal side dish or snack. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 kg potatoes - 2 liters oil (e.g., canola or sunflower oil)
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into long strips. 2. Rinse the potato strips in cold water to remove excess starch. Drain well.
3. Heat the oil in a deep pot or fryer to 160°C (320°F).
4. Fry the potato strips in small batches for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft but not browned. Remove from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
5. Increase the heat to 190°C (375°F). Fry the potato strips again until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
6. Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt and serve immediately.
