A deliciously versatile pie crust made with carrot puree, perfect for both sweet and savory fillings.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes (plus baking time)
Serving Size: Serves 8
Ingredients:
- 1 package organic carrot puree
- 150 g melted baking margarine
- 4-5 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
2. In a bowl, mix the carrot puree and melted margarine until well combined.
3. Gradually add in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
4. Mix until the dough is smooth. If necessary, add more flour until the dough reaches a suitable thickness.
5. Roll out the dough on parchment paper or press it into a pie dish.
6. Pre-bake the crust in the oven for about 10-15 minutes before adding your desired filling.
7. Fill the pie crust with your chosen filling and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through.
8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
