Ingredients:
- 2 dl cornmeal- 8 dl water
- 200 g bacon
- 1 dl grated cheese (e.g., Parmesan)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 dl cream
Instructions:
1. Boil water in a pot and add salt.2. Gradually stir in the cornmeal while mixing until the mixture thickens.
3. Continue cooking on low heat for about 10 minutes, until the polenta is soft.
4. Fry the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove the bacon and use the fat for cooking.
5. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
6. Mix the onion-garlic mixture, bacon, and cream into the polenta.
7. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and smooth the top.
8. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
9. Bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 20 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden brown.
10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
