A delightful and creative way to use gingerbread dough to make festive cards that will bring joy to friends and family during the holiday season.
Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 10-15 cards
Ingredients:
- 250 g butter
- 2 dl sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 1 tbsp cloves
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 dl cream
- 1.5 liters all-purpose flour
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the sugar and syrup. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves.
2. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the spices, baking soda, salt, and cream. Mix well.
3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the mixture until a smooth and elastic dough forms.
4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about an hour.
5. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
6. Roll out the dough to about 0.5 cm thick and cut into desired card shapes.
7. Place the cards on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
8. Allow the cards to cool before decorating.
9. Decorate the cards as desired, using powdered sugar or fondant.
