A delightful Finnish pastry that’s perfect for snacking or serving at gatherings. Preparation Time: 1 hour (plus rising time)
Serving Size: 65 pieces
Ingredients:
- 2 dl cream
- 200 g butter, room temperature
- 350 g fine wheat flour
- 10 g yeast
- Extra fine sugar (for coating)
Instructions:
1. Heat the cream until it is lukewarm.
2. Dissolve the yeast in the warm cream.
3. Add the flour and softened butter to the mixture. Mix well until combined.
4. Allow the dough to rise for about one hour.
5. (TIP: You can prepare the dough the night before and let it rest in the refrigerator overnight for easier handling!)
6. Cut the dough into 65 pieces and roll each piece into approximately 30 cm long strips.
7. Roll the strips in sugar and shape them into rings.
8. Bake the rings in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
