Ingredients:
- 300 g pasta (e.g., penne or fusilli) - 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 100 ml vodka
- 200 ml cream
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve some of the cooking water. 2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft.
3. Add the crushed garlic and sauté for another minute.
4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and vodka into the skillet. Let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
5. Stir in the cream and mix well. Season with salt and black pepper.
6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to combine. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved cooking water.
7. Serve the pasta garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
