Ingredients:
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 150 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
4. Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture to the egg mixture, stirring well to combine.
5. Sift in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, and salt. Mix until you have a smooth batter.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
7. Bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, until the cake is set but slightly moist in the center.
8. Allow the cake to cool before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or top with whipped cream.
