A delicious Italian slow-cooked dish featuring beef shanks simmered in a rich sauce. Perfect for sharing with family or friends.

Ingredients:

- 2 parsnips
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp oregano
- 800 g beef shanks, sliced (e.g., 4 pieces of 200 g each)
- Water
- 800 g (2 cans) crushed tomatoes
- Flour
- 2 carrots
- 2 onions
- 1 celery root
- 0.25 tsp black pepper, ground
- 2 tsp rosemary
- 8 peeled potatoes

Instructions:

1. Peel and chop the parsnips, carrots, onions, and celery root.
2. Dust the beef shank slices with flour and brown them in a pan with oil. Set the shanks aside.
3. In the same pan, add the chopped vegetables and sauté until softened.
4. Add sugar, oregano, black pepper, and rosemary. Mix well.
5. Incorporate the crushed tomatoes and stir. Return the beef shanks to the pan.
6. Add enough water to cover the shanks. Bring to a boil.
7. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 1.5 hours, until the meat is tender.
8. Boil the peeled potatoes separately until cooked.
9. Serve Osso Bucco with the potatoes.
