A hearty Italian dish featuring tender braised veal shanks, perfect for a cozy dinner.

Cooking Time: 2-3 hours
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- ½ tsp rosemary
- 1 piece of celery root
- 2 carrots
- Salt to taste
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 sprigs of parsley
- White pepper to taste
- 1 bay leaf
- Fresh thyme
- 2 dl white wine
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 onions
- 1 kg beef shanks
- 1 can of canned tomatoes
- A splash of game stock
Instructions:
1. Season the flour with salt and white pepper.
2. Dredge the beef shanks in the seasoned flour.
3. Sear the shanks in a hot pan until browned.
4. Add chopped onions, carrots, and celery root to the pan and sauté for a few minutes.
5. Stir in crushed garlic, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, and parsley.
6. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for a few minutes.
7. Add the canned tomatoes and a splash of game stock.
8. Cover and let simmer on low heat for about 2-3 hours, until the meat is tender.
9. Serve with mashed potatoes or risotto.
