Akvavit Wheat Beer

A refreshing and spicy wheat beer that combines citrusy and fruity flavors with the essence of aquavit. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g wheat flour - 350 ml water
- 7 g dry yeast
- 50 g sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp aquavit
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- Juice and zest of 1 orange
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp crushed coriander seeds
- 100 ml beer (e.g., pale ale)
Instructions:
1. Warm the water to lukewarm and dissolve the dry yeast and sugar in it. Let it rise for about 10 minutes.2. In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, salt, lemon juice and zest, orange juice and zest, grated ginger, and crushed coriander seeds.
3. Add the risen yeast mixture to the flour mixture. Then add the aquavit and beer. Mix well until the dough is smooth.
4. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
5. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Pour the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and shape it as desired.
6. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown.
7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
