Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh herbs (e.g., rosemary or thyme, optional)
Instructions:
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into approximately 1 cm thick strips.
2. Soak the potato strips in cold water for about 15 minutes to remove excess starch.
3. Drain and dry the potatoes thoroughly.
4. Place the potatoes in a bowl and add olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well to ensure the spices coat the potatoes evenly.
5. Spread the potatoes evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 20-25 minutes, until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Turn the fries halfway through baking.
7. Serve warm with fresh herbs, if desired.
