These crispy and salty French fries are the perfect side for burgers or just for snacking!
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 medium potatoes
- 2 liters water
- 2 tablespoons salt (for boiling water)
- 1 teaspoon salt (for seasoning)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 liter oil (for frying)
Instructions:
1. Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips.
2. Place the potato strips in a bowl of cold water and soak for about 15 minutes to remove excess starch.
3. Bring water to a boil in a large pot and add 2 tablespoons of salt.
4. Rinse the potato strips in cold water and add them to the boiling water. Cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly tender.
5. Drain the potatoes and let them cool at room temperature.
6. Heat the oil in a deep pot or fryer to 180°C (356°F).
7. Fry the potato strips in small batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes.
8. Remove the fries and drain on paper towels. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
9. Serve hot!
