Ingredients:
- 400 g white fish (e.g. cod or perch)
- 2 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 4-5 large potatoes
- Oil for frying
- Salt for serving
- Lemon wedges (optional)
Instructions:
1. Peel and cut the potatoes into thick sticks. Rinse in cold water and dry thoroughly.
2. Heat oil in a deep pot to approximately 180 °C.
3. Fry the potato sticks in the oil until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, seasoning with salt.
4. Meanwhile, prepare the fish fillets by cutting them into portion sizes.
5. In a bowl, mix together the flour, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Dip the fish pieces into the batter.
6. Fry the battered fish in the oil for about 4-5 minutes, until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
7. Serve your fish and chips with lemon wedges and a cold beer.
