A simple and delicious sauce that pairs perfectly with pasta or potatoes. Preparation time: 15 minutes. Serving size: 4 servings.
Ingredients:
- Ground black pepper, ground nutmeg, and salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons spelt flour
- ½ packet of strong Koskenlaskija cheese
- 1 tablespoon Manzanilla (or other white wine)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 400 ml organic milk or 200 ml organic cream + 200 ml water
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add the spelt flour and stir until smooth. Let it cook for a moment while stirring.
3. Gradually add the liquid (milk or cream and water) to the mixture, stirring constantly. If the mixture thickens too much, you can heat it further.
4. Once the mixture is smooth, add ground black pepper, nutmeg, and salt to taste.
5. Finally, stir in the strong Koskenlaskija cheese and Manzanilla. Let the mixture simmer on low heat until the cheese has melted and the sauce reaches the desired consistency.
