These delicious glögi buns bring the festive spirit of Christmas even in October. They are perfect to enjoy with a hot drink.Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 12 buns
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 2 dl milk
- 1 dl glögi (spiced mulled wine)
- 50 g butter
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 1/2 dl sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1 egg (for brushing)
Instructions:
1. Warm the milk and glögi until lukewarm. Add the melted butter.
2. In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients (flour, dry yeast, sugar, salt, and cardamom).
3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
5. Knead the dough again and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
6. Shape each piece into a round bun and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
7. Brush the buns with the beaten egg and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
8. Bake the buns at 200°C (400°F) for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
9. Allow to cool before serving.
