A delicious open-faced sandwich perfect for a quick snack or light meal. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients
- 2 slices of your favorite bread- 4 slices of mozzarella cheese
- Rings of red onion
- 2-4 slices of cold-smoked meat
- 1-2 slices of Gouda or cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons of pesto
- Garlic oil
- 4 slices of tomato
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Chopped fresh herbs
- 2 tablespoons of papaya-lime jam or similar
Instructions
1. Toast the bread slices until golden brown.2. Spread pesto and garlic oil on top of the toasted bread.
3. Layer the mozzarella slices and red onion rings on the bread.
4. Add the cold-smoked meat and Gouda or cheddar on top.
5. Place the tomato slices on top and season with black pepper and chopped fresh herbs.
6. Add the papaya-lime jam on top.
7. Bake the toasts in the oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
8. Serve warm and enjoy!
